Call for Concept Note – Second Round Announcement
A sub-grant provision under the project name “Strengthening Civil Society for Democratic and Sustainable Development in Cambodia”, funded by the European Union (EU) and Bread for the World (Bfdw).
- Rationale
The civil society Fund (CSF), a platform initiated and managed by Cooperation Committee for Cambodia, and represented a long term and strategic commitment to extract potential and sustained resources in order to assist CSOs in Cambodia to respond to development challenges so that they can financially self-sustain.
CSF is currently calling for concept notes for sub-grant provision funded by the European Union (EU) and Bread for the World (Bfdw). This sub-grant project aims to help local Non-Governmental Organizations (LNGOs), provincial NGOs network and Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to financially sustain amidst the country’s foreign aid/fund shrinking, so that these organizations could continue contributing to the development of Cambodia more effectively and more impact-fully.
- Project sector
Eligible Concept notes for shortlisting must be able to opt for effective solution (s) that would result for a self-financial sustainability for local NGOs or CBOs, with the use of inclusive partnership mechanism from cross sectors, in wide variety of activities. The partnership shall be managed by the proposed civil society organization (LNGOs or CBOs or provincial NGO network’s members) and could include various sectors from private sector, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), social enterprises, and government sector.
The area of activities could possibly be promoting art/culture, helping the disables, promoting corporate social responsibility, promoting green agriculture, promoting youth education, initiative that could contribute to achieving Cambodian sustainable development goals (SDGs) especially SDG16 & SDG17.
The concept note could possibly be implemented on a stand-alone or a joint-effort project, meaning that some looks/explores into one particular area of activities in a fully complete partnership chain whereas the joint-effort is a one-added-on-to-another to achieve one key common goal.
- Total budget value of a sub- grant
The maximum value of a sub-grant, under this call is up to EUR15,000.
- Closing date for this call for concept note
The deadline for the submission of concept note is January 8th, 2019 (please refer to section 7 for other submission dates). In case any adjustments to this call deemed necessary then CSF reserve the right to do so and inform in due course.
- Eligible applicants for this call for concept note
- All local NGOs members of CCC, local NGOs partners of EU, and local NGOs partners of Bread for the World (BfdW)
- All local NGOs and CBOs in the 10 targeted provinces and Phom Penh i.e. Ratanakiri, Kratie, Kompot, Sihanouk Ville, Svay Rieng, Siem Reap, Kompong Chhnang, Pursat, Battambang, and Takeo and Phnom Penh.
- All provincial NGO networks in the above 10 targeted provinces and Phnom Penh
- Preparing and submitting concept note
The concept note form could be downloaded from http://www.ccc-cambodia.org/en/what-we-do/csf-concept-note-form. The concept note could be filled up in either Khmer or English, then convert it to PDF file format. The completed concept note together with a copy of registration document should be sent to the CSF’s secretariat, attention to Mr. Nong Neat Norak, the Resource Mobilization Manager of Cooperation Committee for Cambodia (CCC), via neatnorak.nong@ccc-cambodia.org, or by post to #9-11, Str 476, Toul Tumpung 1, Chamkamorn, PO Box 885, Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
