Background

Founded in 1996 by doctors responsible for hospitals eager to share their knowledge, pain Sans Frontières ( DSF ) is a French NGO of international solidarity, recognized by the WHO and public utility since 2003 (Decree of 10 November 2003). DSF work in the health field and more specifically in the field of management of pain, suffering and symptoms of end of life . most of these doctors had previously acquired experience of humanitarian medicine intervening to Doctors of the World, Doctors Without borders ... At first, the business of DFS was focused on the pain caused by amputations and injuries caused by landmines. This explains the choice of initial areas: the Angola, Cambodia and Mozambique . Over the years, DFS was able to expand its scope, to which she aspired. Today , its activities extended to the field of management of health and pain, that is, -dire all the care necessitated by chronic diseases (HIV, cancer, ...), postoperative pain, burns and malnutrition, and diseases requiring palliative care. DFS has also sought to develop programs to support the moral and psychological suffering of the people and especially children (suffering of the disabled, orphanages in distress ...).
