Background

HBA is the association which is established by the group of blinds, group of volunteery youths, and group of the monks. First of all, the history of Hope of the Blind Association start from four people greated it. Those people are Mr. Moth Pheap, Mr. Van Sokvat, Mr. Si thirith, and Mr. Pun Sophean. All of them are very young both experience and age. HBA was named in Frebuary 11, 2011 by the group of four people which is called Hope of the Blind Association. The reason why we named like this, because we emphasis the word “hope”. Hope here meaning is full by confident and strong commitment to live in the difficulty world. Many disable people are living with hopeless, so we set up this association to build the hope and ofter them the freedom and encourage them to continue their life. We also see the discrimination in Khmer society for disable people. We are the group of voluntary youth wanted to show the other people who are always look down on disable to see the interaction between our group and disable, especially, the blind who are working with us to this association. We remember one day that we started to establish this association with meeting with four blinds people. And we didn’t have the place to start the meeting, and we asked the blind massage place to discuss and we were agree by the blind owner. In that day, we had discussed about it, named it, and think about the logo. Then Mr. Moth Pheap, he rode the bicycle to his friend house that his friend can design logo. He arrived at his friend house at night and came back home at the midnight. And his aim of designing logo was achieved. After designing logo successfully, we are arrange the document to get the law. Before getting licence our group was very difficult to do it due to we are all young people, no experience, and never know the high position people. We committed mistakes a lot of doing the document, but we still tried again and again. Finally, at the end of May we got the licence from the enterer ministry. We are so happy. But after getting this what we are going to challenge is try to know more organisation and find fund to support the association.
