Background

INTHANOU Association has been set up in July 2000 to be the first AIDS hotline counseling in Cambodia. To date, INTHANOU is functioning for fitteen years to provide accurate information on HIV/AIDS to users and guide them to appropriate health facilities in accord to their need. INTHANOU is operating two lines, the two lines are the usual free line 012 999 008 and 012 999 009 (Free for CellCard Users). The two lines are available twelve hours a day from 8 am to 8 pm from Monday to Friday and special program for weekend on Sunday from 9 am to 12 pm.

Mission

INTHANOU commits to promote better understanding among Cambodian people, particularly most at risk population on prevention and care on HIV/AIDS, STIs and Reproductive Health by providing them correct information, inform choice through telephone counseling, that they can have proper decision, reduce their risky behavior, have safe practice and access to the appropriate services on time.

Vision

INTHANOU want to see Cambodian people, particularly the group at risk population have well being and live in valuable life, better access to information on HIV/AIDS, STIs, and Reproductive Health.

Goal

Contribute to reduce transmission risk of HIV among Cambodian people Provide accurate information on HIV/AIDS/STIs related to transmission, prevention, treatment and care to Cambodian population as well as provide counseling and psychological support to PLWA and their family. And guide callers to use appropriate government and NGO health facility according to their needs. Maintain and update INTHANOU Webpage to absorb users particularly youth. Networking with relevant government organization, IOs, NGOs and UN agencies for technical collaboration. Make profile study of hotline users to be used as source of information on knowledge, attitude and practice on HIV/AIDS/STIs and sexual behavior of hotline callers. Maintain quality of INTHANOU service through capacity building of hotline counselors and promotion.
