Background

ESK, Children of the Khmer Smile is a non-profit organization, law 1901 created in 1996, is recognized of public interest. Based in France, ESK aims to specifically help disadvantaged children in Cambodia. Unlike many associations, ESK has aimed from the beginning to remain on a human scale: to be close to the children it supports, to facilitate their growth, to support them in their development and help them up 'that they are autonomous by having a job. Before the extreme lack of vocational training in Cambodia, ESK is committed in 2006 to create a training school for wood processing near KOMPONG SPEU.En 2010, that young Cambodians are reclaiming their culture and traditions ESK has created a House of Culture and sports in the city of KEP.Nos latest projects: small units, called "House of Smiles" managed by a family where the children feel at home. In these places, the basic needs of children are covered: security, food, health and hygiene; Furthermore the emphasis is on education through regular monitoring, support courses and basic education in English and computing. Later, we would like to develop the teaching of French as well.
