Monk Relief and Khmer Culture (MCO) is Cambodian non-governmental, neutral, non-racial discrimination, non-political and non-profit organization. MCO was officially recognized by the Ministry of Interior on December 22, 2002. MCO aims to reduce people’s poverty and conduct religion related activities such as building health centers for Buddhist monks, strengthening and promotion of culture through development of human resources, consistent with democracy and Constitution of Cambodia

Background

MCO was founded in 1997 and was officially recognized by the Ministry of Interior on December 22, 2002. MCO continues from Association of Committees for Salvation of Buddhist Monks and Khmer Culture, which was founded in 1947. His Excellency Eav Koes was a member of this association. Monk Heng Kung and colleagues recreated this association. MCO has the objective to build health centers to provide free medical care for monks.
