Overview

CPR was established as a local non-profit Non Government Organization (NGO) in 2003. The organization was established to respond to the urgent need of Cambodian people for education, care and support relating to HIV/AIDS and this initiative has consequently inspired others to initiate similar activities. CPR strategically works with a chars to implement HIV/AIDS prevention and home based care, human rights, education on gender, and livelihood activities in its target areas. Through the compassion and commitment of a fieldwork volunteers and a dedicated team of staff, CPR has been able to improve the lives of many people infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS, especially OVC, in its target provinces of Kampong Chhnang.

Background

CPR started providing service to youth in school and out school related to prevention program on reproductive health since 2003 to 2006. This project supported from KHANA and coverage within north and south Roleaphar District. 2006-2008 CPR provided services to key target groups of PLHIV and OVC (infected and affected) within 7 communes, 46 villages, 1 Operational District and 3 Health Centre. Community People including PLHIV were recruited to be Home Based Care Team Leader and Member under financial support from Global Fund Round 5 through KHANA for HIV care project. 2009-early 2010 under financial and technical support from Global Fund Round 7 through KHANA CPR reached PLHIV for 126/78 And Global Fund Round 5 through KHANA also reached OVC for 177/106 and coverage 1 district, 7 communes, 46 villages, 1 Operational District and 3 Health Centre. 2010-2011 CPR still got financial and technical support from Global Fund Round 9 through KHANA reached PLHIV for 114/68 and Global Fund Round 5 reached OVC for 205/118 and HIV+ 9/2 and coverage 1 district, 7 communes, 46 villages, 1 Operational District and 3 Health Centre. 2007-2011 under sub grant from EU through KHANA CPR reached PLHIV 150/113 and OVC for 320/165 and HIV+ for 6 and coverage 3 districts, 9 communes, 61 villages, 2 Operational Districts and 4 Health Centre. 2011-2012 CPR maintain the project of Integrated Care and Prevention which focus on Home and Community Based-Care (HCBC) for providing care and support to PLHIV for 263 and OVC for 541/15. We had facilitated with OI service to 101 and provided IGA support to 12 household of PLHIV/OVC. CPR implements ICP project in 2 Operational District (Kampong Trolach and Kampong Chhnang), 7 Health Centre (Prey Khmer, Cheung Kreav, Nikum/Preah Kosamak, Prey Kri, Peam Chhkaok, Tang Krasang and Svay Chuk), 4 District and 16 communes and 103 villages To date, CPR expand its coverage to 2 provinces more is Pursat and Banteay Meanchey Province and is a KHANA implementing partner and received technical and funding support to implement Integrated Care and Prevention (ICP) project. As 2013, CPR cover 129 PLHIV and 235 OVC in Kampong Chhnang Province with 1 OD and 3 HCs and 902 PLHIV and 1467 OVC in Pursat and Banteay Meanchey Provinces with 3 OD, 17 health centers.
