Overview

AMDA (Association of Medical Doctors of Asia) is a humanitarian, non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian, and non-governmental organization. It was formally founded on August 1, 1984. AMDA, with its headquarters in Okayama, Japan and Chapters (branches) all over the world, has been involved in humanitarian activities throughout the world.

Background

AMDA first entered into Cambodia, and agreement with the Ministry of Health in 1992. Until 1997, headquarters were transferred to local control, and the management was taken over by national staff and AMDA has becoming a locally. Presently, AMDA-Cambodia has received grant of GFATM R9. Through this program, AMDA has contributed to the overall goal of the National Malaria Programme, to reduce malarial morbidity and mortality.
