Overview
Mith Samlanh is a leading local NGO working with street children, their families, and their community. Mith Samlanh has been established in 1994 to respond to the immediate needs of street children in accordance with The Convention on the Rights of the Child. Mith Samlanh’s general objective is to reintegrate street children into society through family placement whenever possible, reintegration into public school (for younger children), and employment (for older children).
Background
Mith Samlanh/Friends was started in August 1994 by Mr. Sebastien Marot, Ms. Barbara Adams and Mr. Mark Turgesen as a local initiative towards helping street children. Sebastien Marot was put in charge of establishing, running and monitoring the initial phase of the project. Mith Samlanh/Friends is a street children focused project, striving to provide constructive and flexible responses to the needs of street children.
