He/she is answerable to a Board of Directors, the majority of who are elected members of CPN+, serving a two-year term. The Board of Directors is supported by Technical Advisory Committee (TAC). CPN+ currently supports nearly 1000 Self Help Groups (SHG) of PLHIV with the approximately 30,000 members in Phnom Penh and in the provinces. CPN+ works in partnership with provincial networks in 19 provinces (5 provinces were scaled up in years 2014), each headed by a Coordinator, who coordinate activities between the MMM groups and self-help groups in their province. Currently there are 36 MMM sites funding flow through CPN+ to support its activities at 36 Pre-ART/ART sites.

Background

The Cambodian People living with HIV Network (CPN+) is a national network that was established in July 2001 in response to Cambodia’s rapidly growing HIV epidemic. CPN+ works are to strengthen the policy synergy between the HIV response at national and grassroots levels by meaningful involvement of people living with and affected by HIV (PLHIV) in the development of policies, plans and programmes for PLHIV. CPN+ facilitates national and sub-national coordination of the network and coordinates activities by its members, to mitigate the impact of the HIV epidemic and improve the quality of life for PLHIV in Cambodia. CPN+’s activities are coordinated by the national office, based in Phnom Penh, led by a National Coordinator. Since its establishment in July 2001, CPN+ has experienced significant changes and challenges in developing its organizational and institutional structure. Starting from April 2012, CPN+ embarked on a process to develop and revise their policies, organizational manuals and bylaws. They also started the process to develop a coherent strategic plan to reflect their role within the current context of the epidemic in Cambodia. In February 2013, CPN+ General Assembly, with more than100 representatives in attendance, ratified the bylaws and approved their new Strategic plan for 2013-2016.
