Overview

During the past 18 years WOMEN has implemented development programs to improve the situation of poor, vulnerable and sick Cambodians especially women and children in Phnom Penh municipality and Kandal, Prey Veng, Kampong Cham, Kompong Thom and Oddar Meanchey Provinces. In 2010, WOMEN has 110 staff and 250 volunteers working across 6 provincial locations. WOMEN is governed by a Board of Directors. The Board consists of five members who have relevant experience working in Cambodian NGOs. WOMEN management team is comprised of the President, Program Managers, Finance Manager and Project Coordinators including administrative staff and provincial staff representatives. The by-laws of WOMEN were established in accordance with Cambodian Law, and WOMEN has internal policies relating to personnel and financial matters, and other office systems and procedures.

Background

The Women Organization for Modern Economy and Nursing (WOMEN) was established in 1993 and recognized by the Minister of council on 21 December 1993, and re-registered with the Ministry of Interior on 11 April 2000.
