Background

In 2007, God began giving the burden and vision for a Christian university to few Christian leaders including: Rev. Heng Cheng, CEO of the Evangelical Fellowship of Cambodia (EFC) and Dr. Andrew Kwong of Country Network Hong Kong. This calling led them to seek partners. The search seemed unfruitful until 2011 when God brought the leaders of the EFC, Dr. Kwong, and other missionaries together in partnership. From March to August, 2011 the Christian University Planning Committee (CUPC), co-chaired by Dr. Kwong and Rev. Cheng, met to solidify the vision and seek God’s guidance in starting a Christian university. The CUPC completed its work with the development of mission and vision statements before transforming into the founding board of Trinity Institute of Cambodia (TIC).
