Overview

Foundation for International Development/Relief (FIDR), established in Japan in 1990, is an international humanitarian aid organization working for sustainable social development and emergency relief in developing countries. FIDR has been making efforts to improve living conditions for the poor in multi-sectors in Asian countries, particularly in Nepal, Viet Nam and Cambodia. While promoting international cooperation by Japanese private sector and Japanese citizens on humanitarian work, FIDR continues its tireless challenges to build a brighter future for every child with directly addressing the local needs.

Background

FIDR-Cambodia office was established in 1996 as the first field office. Since then, in partnership with the government of Cambodia and relevant organizations, FIDR-Cambodia has been implementing various projects in area of health, nutrition, education and food security.

FIDR promotes sustainable growth of the societies in developing countries through striving to accomplish the three missions: -Implementing social development programs to make the future brighter for children FIDR performs all the processes of development programs in various sectors with emphasis on capacity building of the people. -Conducting quick response to the needs of disaster victims FIDR conducts emergency relief and rehabilitation programs for people in disaster-affected areas. -Promoting a broad network for international cooperation FIDR promotes the awareness and involvement in international cooperation by the business sector and individuals of Japan.
