Overview

Oxfam is an international confederation of 17 organizations working in 94 countries. As part of a global movement for change, we are working together to end world poverty and injustice. We work with thousands of partners in countries around the world, and employ staff in a wide variety of posts. We work directly with communities and we seek to influence the powerful to ensure that poor people can improve their lives and livelihoods and have a say in decisions that affect them. Oxfam started working in Cambodia in 1979. We are working in partnership with other NGOs, civil society, the Royal Government of Cambodia, and other development agencies to help the Cambodia peoples overcome poverty and suffering.

Background

Oxfam has been working in Cambodia for more than 30 years and we’re committed to ensuring that this culturally rich and inspiring country works its way out of poverty. Oxfam was among the first group of NGO’s to provide aid to Cambodia after the collapse of the Khmer Rouge in 1979. Over the years, we have teamed with local partners, community groups and government across all 24 provinces. We work with partners on the promotion and protection of human rights, women’s economic empowerment, building community micro-finance institutions, responsible management of natural resources, disaster risk reduction and adaptation to climate change
