Overview

Stitches of Hope is a partner for Project 68-2012-2013 Stitches of Hope with Rotary, an AusAID approved NGO carrying out quality humanitarian projects with approved partners to relieve poverty and provide long term solutions. RAWCS takes responsibility for the project according to AusAID rules, providing a governance role and assisting in the areas of planning, monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating to ensure that project 68 Stitches of Hope is carried out to Australian requirements. Tax deductible receipts for donations to this approved aid and development project 68 Stitches of Hope will be issued by RAWCS.

Background

Stitches of Hope have been working in Cambodia since 2005, with a goal and passion to enrich and empower the lives of the children, young people, families and elderly in the provinces of Cambodia. Projects currently running are to build a Community Centre for 60 families in the village of Chrey Vien, with goals to educate the children and provide skills training and small business opportunities for the villagers. We have a sponsorship program for orphans, needy children, students who desire to further their education, families and many elderly who have no means of support. The Tailoring shop in Phnom Penh has been given support by Stitches of Hope, and the young people are developing amazing sewing skills. Future goals include finance for a new Community Centre at Mongkolborei, and education opportunities for 80 children in Kom Pong Speu province. Stitches of Hope are excited to be partnering with Global Development Group to meet these challenges and bring hope to these beautiful people.
