Overview
CABDICO (Capacity Building for Disability Cooperation) is a Cambodian NGO that supports the empowerment of people with disabilities in rural areas. Established in 2006, our mission is to support all people with disabilities and vulnerable people in Cambodia by responding to their basic needs in their community. CABDICO was created through the localisation of Handicap International’s CABDIC program that operated between 1999 and 2005.
CABIDICO works closely with the local authorities to increase the awareness of disabilities issues within the community, promote disability rights and ensure long-term sustainability of activities. CABDICO has a strong relationship with the Ministry of Social Affairs, Youth and Veterans.
From 2006 to 2010 CABDICO worked in the provinces of Siem Reap and Banteay Meanchey. In 2010, Kep Provincial Authorities approached CABDICO and requested support for people with disabilities in that area. CABDICO has worked in Kep since early 2011. At the end of 2013, CABDICO closed programming in Banteay Meanchey due to the geographical difficulty of maintaining operations there. This decision was made to allow the CABDICO team to focus on the improvement and expansion of programming in Siem Reap and Kep.
CABDICO works almost exclusively in remote, rural areas and provides support for over 200 children with disabilities and over 1000 adults affected by disabilities

Mission
Our mission is to support all people with disabilities and vulnerable people in in Cambodia by responding to their basic needs in their community. At present we work in two provinces of Cambodia – Siem Reap and Kep – mainly working in rural areas, where access to basic amenities and healthcare is limited. We work with children and adults with disabilities, their families, and teachers and community leaders.
Vision
We believe in a world where people with disabilities and vulnerable people in Cambodia have opportunities to obtain education, health care, and income generation on an equal basis with others.
Goal
Maximizing the potential of children with disabilities. Empowerment of people and families affected by disability.
