Overview

An innovative Christian development organisation and relief agency, is committed to partnering with other Christian agencies in holistic development projects in Cambodia since 1991. ICC's purpose is to serve to the needs of the people and the nation of Cambodia with skills in education, health, economic development, and community development in response to invitations from government/non-government agencies. ICC aims to train the people of Cambodia in professional and leadership skills, to strengthen local organizations and to demonstrate unity and cooperation as we work with other agencies in Cambodia. ICC operates in different models: ICC implements projects by itself, ICC seconds people to other government and non-governmental organizations and ICC implements activities together with other partner organizations. Main areas of expertise: Non-Formal Education, Community Development (incl. community health, food security, income generation), Oral health, Local ethnic minorities and Child welfare.

Background

ICC was formed in Nov 1998 by World Concern, Danmission, InterAct and later in December 1999 SIL International joined. World Concern had already worked in Cambodia since 1991 and for the last years World Concern worked in close cooperation with the other three organizations. In October 2000 South Asian Outreach joined the alliance and the five organizations share equal responsibility for projects, personnel, funding and management. From the beginning of the year 2000 the name “International Cooperation Cambodia was officially approved by the Cambodian Government.

We want to see the least served communities in Cambodia transformed by God’s love to experience restored relationships, sustainable livelihoods, competence to make wise decisions and sustainable gospel witness.

Goal

A new ICC Strategy Plan will come into force from mid 2014 till end of 2017, with the following two strategic focuses: 1) Human Rights 2) Communities
