Overview
SEADO play a lead role in HIV/AIDS prevention and care in Banteay Meanchey Province as a partner of the Khmer HIV/AIDS NGO Alliance (KHANA) as well as being a respected delivery agency of Community Development and drugs harm reduction projects. We currently have 33 paid staff and more than 120 village based volunteers working across 4 programs- HIV/AIDS, Community Development, Drugs and Migration. We have an established presence in 4 Districts including the two cities of Serey Sophon and Poi Pet. Most of our beneficiaries live in rural areas.
Background
The Social Environment Agricultural Development Organisation (SEADO) has been delivering a broad range of community development projects in North-West Cambodia, especially Banteay Meanchey Province, since 1995.
Mission
We work in North West Cambodia to promote sustainable community development, especially for poor vulnerable and rural people, that provides education and access to improved health, livelihoods and living standards.
Vision
A Cambodia where all people have access to sustainable livelihoods, health and social services, and are active contributors to safe, strong and fair communities.
Goal
1. To provide a range of community development projects so that communities can have better livelihoods, health and community participation. 2. To improve the livelihood of the rural villagers through increasing productivity of agriculture, animal raising and family income generating activities. 3. Improve education and access to health services for the whole community, especially for people living with HIV/AIDS. 4. Respond to emerging social and environmental issues, especially cross-cutting issues such as human rights, gender equality, child rights, harm reduction, good governance and environmental sustainability. 5. To increase the local capacity to solve it's own problems through raising villages’ knowledge and skills in all aspects of life.
