Overview

The following key strategic Objectives are formulated based on the in depth analysis of the current development trends and proposed strategic directions. Here are the key objectives set out towards 2017: 1. IP will has the capacity and legal rights to secure, control and manage their own natural resources 2. The natural resources will be increased and reused in a sustainable manner, especially in the forest and fishery. 3. IP community solidarity will be strong and capable of building more networks of support and mobilizing their existing resources, through people led actions, to deal their current issues. 4. IP has the capacity and mechanism for adaptation and solving their own local issues arising from the current impacts of climate change, through the enhancement of the relevant agricultural techniques and productivity. 5. MVi, as a learning organization will have their capacity improved in providing development services with high quality standard and remain to be responsive the need of its target community.

Background

My Village (MVi) is a Cambodian non-profit-non-government-organization was founded in November 2006 and officially registered with the Ministry of Interior in 25 January 2007. MVi is operating in northeast provinces of Cambodia, particular in Mondulkiri, Kratie and Stung Treng. Ever since, MVi became a recognized local NGO working for Indigenous Peoples' Rights. MVi encourages ownership and participation of indigenous peoples’ as its approaches to protect their land and natural resources.

Here are the principles: • Focus is on supporting development of local level civil society, with links to others; • Indigenous people organization (IPOs), indigenous community based organization (ICBOs), and non-governmental organization (NGOs)- all are equal; • That requires a program of learning between local levels, from national level and from the Asia region; • Maximize input and direction by peoples groups toward a common goal-self-reliant; • Flexibility to respond when need, not finance driven-based on agreement.

My Village’s mission is to provide high quality support to local civil societies for improving natural resource-dependent livelihoods.

My Village envisions indigenous communities in Cambodia are self-reliant and living with improved quality of life.
