Overview

Founded in 1895, Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, committed to protecting the world’s wildlife. WCS has the clear mission to save wildlife and wild places across the globe. Our goal is to conserve the world's largest wild places in 16 priority regions, home to more than 50% of the planet's biodiversity. We do so through science, global conservation, education and the management of the world's largest system of urban wildlife parks, led by the flagship Bronx Zoo. Together these activities change attitudes towards nature and help people imagine wildlife and humans living in harmony. WCS is committed to this mission because it is essential to the integrity of life on Earth. In partnership with Cambodia’s Ministry of Environment (MoE) and Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), WCS has been conserving Cambodia’s natural heritage since 1999. WCS works across four landscapes, empowering communities and supporting government agencies to protect natural habitat and globally threatened wildlife. We work with local partners across our sites. Our partners Ibis Rice and the Sam Veasna Centre, improve the livelihoods of the communities that we work with through agriculture and ecotourism in a way that is beneficial to biodiversity.

Value

At WCS, we embrace a set of fundamental core values, including Respect, Accountability & Transparency, Innovation, Diversity & Inclusion, Collaboration, and Integrity. Our core values help strengthen our success and reputation, and inform the way we conduct ourselves in our work for WCS.
