Overview

CCFC is a consortium of Christian Non-Government Organizations who have agreed that their assistance programs in Cambodia shall be jointly conducted as CCFC. CCFC is a non-government, non-profit organization depending on contributions from member agencies and other Christian groups. CCFC aims to make a meaningful and permanent contribution to the renewal of Cambodian society in both urban and rural areas. Projects will be identified and implemented to benefit every sector of society without regard to ethnic background. CCFC will work in partnership with appropriate agencies to accomplish its goals and purposes within Cambodia. CCFC member agencies have specific interest in education, health, rural development and Aviation support for other development entities.

Background

CCFC was formed in Australia in 1992 following a preliminary visit in May of that year. The first staff arrived in December 1993 to establish an office. An agreement was signed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on July 1, 1994. Initial assistance was to the Civil Aviation Authority. English classes commenced in 1994 to improve the effectiveness of Department Managers. This program continued through 1997. From 1997 various development projects in urban and rural areas have been initiated. Involvement in 2009 includes aviation, agricultural community development programs in Mondulkirig Province, informal education programs for disadvantaged youth and children, disabilities support services, mediation and counselling programs, and various education and medical initiatives. As other staff become available they will liaise with established agencies in their field before initiating specific CCFC projects.
