Overview

LMDS is an International Non-Governmental Organization is set up for the relief and rehabilitation of victims of landmines in any part of the world and in particular in Cambodia by any charitable means including, but without limitation, the provision of vocational training and education and any other services relevant to the needs of such disabled persons and their families and carers.

Background

LMDS has officially commenced its activities in Cambodia since April 2003. It operates only in Cambodia and only in the province of Kampong Chhnang. So far LMDS is working with 3,236 very poor people of3,000 families, of whom 3,036 are disabled people and 51% are directly affected by landmine or landmine survivors, to improve the quality of their lives and social inclusions through livelihood improvement and advocacy. The 3,000 families have been formed into a Network of 149 Self Help Group of People living With Disabilities.

Mission

LMDS helps people living with disability to help themselves. We primarily help PWDs to form Network of Self-Help Groups through which income-generating activities and advocacy by PWDs are done individually and collectively.
