Background

Our History The Early Days In 1994, Bruce Carlton, a missionary with the Baptist Church in Cambodia learnt from Mr Bob Yap, a member of Barker Road Methodist Church in Singapore about The Boys’ Brigade (BB) movement. Mr Bob Yap had been working in Cambodia for several years then. Bruce Carlton then came to visit and learn about BB in Singapore and was then, convinced that the BB ministry could do a lot of good for the community in Cambodia. The first introduction to The Boys’ Brigade in Cambodia was conducted in April 1995 at the Church of Christ our Peace, an Anglican Church with Rev Don Cormack who was very supportive of BB. Cambodian pastors and youth leaders from various indigenous churches came for the induction and the training focused on BB methods, Uniforms, Badge Work, a typical BB Parade, First Aid and some indoor games. They were attracted to the idea of BB. Mr. Pang Seng Hock was appointed as the Country Coordinator and regular training for Cambodian pastors and youth leaders from our 4 member churches were conducted. The curriculum included devotions, worship, song leading, drama, bandsmanship, first aid, water safety and games leading. The churches keenly applied our training to their youth and children’s work. Uniforms and drill were kept to a minimum due to the uncertain and tense political situation. The Boys’ Brigade in Cambodia is a registered International Non-Governmental Organisation that aims to establish the BB program framework to develop the youth in Cambodia.

Mission

Our mission is to develop youths, based on Christian values to lead and serve through the The Boys’ Brigade program.
