Background

Friendship Organisation for Development (F.O.D.) is a non-profit Cambodian NGO, established by the Monks of Wat Kok Chork in the Siem Reap Province in June of 2006. Since then they have been supporting the local community by providing free education services and ethical living advice in order to raise the quality of life in the surrounding villages. It all began with the establishment of the 'Wat Kok Chork Language School' by Venerable Daro Keb to provide local children, unable to pay state school fees with free education. Its main goal is to give these students chances to change their lives and provide opportunities that will release themselves and their families from the cycle of poverty. The school has transformed into the 'Friendship Organization for Development (F.O.D.) in 2006. While the goals and ideals of the school are still the same, the school now provides students with free education in English language reading- and writingskills, IT- and computerskills and art class. F.O.D. was registered by the Cambodian Ministry of Interior on 15th of September 2011.
